Roessel Joy is partnering with an education/nonprofit organization in the Natick, MA area seeking a Head of Finance and Accounting to lead financial operations, reporting, and accounting initiatives. The role will oversee month-end close, endowment accounting, audits, and staff development while ensuring strong internal controls.

Qualified candidates have CPA preferred, nonprofit experience, and a track record in endowment tracking and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• CPA highly preferred.
• Nonprofit/education industry experience required.
• Strong month-end close and general ledger experience.
• Experience with endowment tracking and accounting.
• Audit management and financial reporting experience.
• Experience leading software implementations or accounting system improvements.
• Staff management and team leadership experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy.
