Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant for a well-established nonprofit in Greenwich, CT. This role offers ownership of the accounting function within a mission-driven finance team.

Responsibilities include month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting support, audits, and grant accounting. The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of nonprofit or general accounting experience and strong GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with grants, restricted funds, or fund accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Help improve accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
• Partner with leadership and other departments on accounting and financial matters.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed.
