Job summary

Sequen is building a Field Engineering function and seeking a senior leader to recruit, coach, and grow a 4–5 person team. You will own the playbook, including demo motion, POC/valuations, and qualification standards, partnering with sales to win large-scale evaluations.

You will join a hypergrowth AI company, with a strong emphasis on technical storytelling and customer value. This role offers equity and a path to leadership.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of pre-sales / sales engineering experience.
• 4+ years leading Field Engineering teams.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills.
• Built or scaled a technical pre-sales function.
• Led technical sales for infrastructure, ML/AI, data platforms, search/personalization.
• Track record of seven- and eight-figure enterprise deals.
• Bachelor's degree or comparable technical field.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead Sequen's Field Engineering function from the ground up, hiring and coaching a team of 4–5.
• Own the Field Engineering playbook: define demo motion, POC and proof-of-value frameworks, and qualification standards.
• Partner with sales leadership as the technical counterweight to win evaluations and close deals.
• Hire and scale the team ahead of demand; define roles and interview processes.
• Serve as escalation point and technical authority on strategic evaluations; join deals with AEs and Field Engineers.
• Bridge field, product, ML, and forward deployed engineering to feed back customer learnings into the roadmap.
• Establish metrics, forecasting inputs, and operating rhythm for scalable success.
• Shape go-to-market approach with the founding team, sales, and product/ML.
