Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Pasadena, Maryland seeks an Executive Director: Facilities to lead the Department of Facilities, including Construction, Maintenance, and Operations. This role directs strategic plans, supervises managers, and partners with the Superintendent and Board to align facilities with educational goals.

A Master’s degree in a related field and 10+ years of senior facilities experience are required, with significant managerial background in an educational setting.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Ten or more years of progressively responsible professional experience relating to some or all of the following areas: School/commercial building construction or modernization; facilities operations; facilities maintenance; and logistics.
• Ten years of managerial experience preferably in an educational facility environment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates; the entire school facilities planning and capital improvement programs and all ongoing programs of maintenance of plant, operations of plant, and logistics.
• Develops, modifies and interprets administrative policy concerning facilities for other departments of the school system, the Board of Education, County Government, and for the public.
• Plans, organizes, and recommends the department's operating and district’s capital budget for submission to the Superintendent and the Board.
• Directs and coordinates; activities of the Planning, Construction, Maintenance, and Operations Divisions within the Department and between the Department and other areas of school administration, to include replacements, additions, alterations, renovations, and modernizations necessary to meet the needs of the educational program.
• Regularly evaluates divisional programs and procedures for effectiveness, efficiency, responsiveness, and economy.
