Job summary

Texas A&M University–Kingsville seeks a Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer to lead the ethics and compliance program, promoting a culture of integrity and accountability across the university. The CECO reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and collaborates with System offices, legal counsel, and university departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Ten years of progressively responsible experience in ethics, compliance, equal opportunity, investigations, risk management, internal audit, legal affairs, or related field; including at least five years of supervisory/leadership experience.
• Preferred: Juris Doctor (JD) or terminal degree in a related field.
• Experience in higher education compliance, governance, or regulatory affairs is a plus.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws affecting higher education.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the university's ethics and compliance program.
• Develop and maintain a risk-based compliance program to prevent, detect, and address regulatory, operational, and ethical risks.
• Promote integrity, accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct across the university.
• Chairs the University Compliance Committee and represents TAMUK at system compliance meetings.
• Oversee investigations, hotline operations, and coordinate with system offices on compliance matters.
