Job summary

Medallia is seeking a Head of Data Platform & Engineering to own our enterprise data strategy and platform, turning raw data into governed data products that power executive decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role guiding a small team of data engineers and analysts.

You will collaborate with GTM, FP&A, and other functions, extend self-service analytics beyond a small group, and drive AI-enabled data solutions across the platform. Tysons (hybrid), onsite 3 days/week.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering or data platform management.
• 5+ years leading a data platform, data engineering, and/or analytics team.
• Proficient in SQL and dbt for analysis-ready data products.
• Experience architecting enterprise-scale cloud data platforms (Snowflake).
• Experience with orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow) and EL/ETL tooling.
• Strong communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management.
• Proven leadership of a senior technical team.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the enterprise data strategy and technical architecture.
• Translate priorities into data products and a prioritized roadmap.
• Partner with leaders to gather requirements and drive agile delivery.
• Provide hands-on leadership and coaching to a small data team.
• Define and maintain data governance standards across the business.
• Lead evaluation and rollout of self-service analytics and AI enablement.
• Collaborate on data initiatives that support revenue growth.
• Oversee core data platform tech stack and analytics tools.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI to data workflows.
