Job summary

Pi Security is building a security-focused platform and is hiring its Head of Engineering to lead the platform's technical build-out in San Francisco. The role mixes hands-on coding with strategic leadership, reporting to the CEO/co-founder, and guiding a small engineering team as the company scales.

You will drive the technical direction across the stack, recruit and mentor engineers, and collaborate with security customers and founders on high-impact architectural choices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering leadership experience at an early- or growth-stage startup.
• Strong full-stack/backend background with ability to contribute technically.
• Experience shipping complex AI/ML-driven products with large codebases.
• Proven track record of hiring and developing engineers and building culture/process.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup, with appropriate balance of speed and caution.
• Excellent communication skills, translating between technical and business contexts.
• Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco full-time.

Responsibilities

• Own execution of the engineering roadmap end to end, aligned with product and tech strategy.
• Stay hands-on: code, review PRs, and shape architecture and design decisions.
