Job summary

Slash in San Francisco is seeking a Software Engineer to own and scale the security of its platform, protecting the stack from network to application level and establishing end-to-end security programs for fast, reliable growth.

You will work on securing infrastructure (Kubernetes/AWS) and product features, implement passkey auth and rate limiting, and coordinate pen tests, audits, and compliance efforts with the engineering team. The role offers high autonomy and impact.

Qualifications

• Security generalist across infrastructure to application code.
• Experience with Kubernetes/EKS, CockroachDB, Kafka, Terraform/Pulumi, AWS.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or another OO language.
• Ability to coordinate pen tests, audits, and security priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own Slash's security program end-to-end and drive changes independently.
• Harden network security including Cloudflare, AWS WAF, and VPC.
• Improve application security with features like passkey authentication and rate limiting.
• Coordinate pen tests and our bug bounty program with engineering teams.
• Assist on PCI and SOC 2 compliance efforts.
• Establish security patterns, tooling, and guardrails for fast, safe development across the team.
• Own corporate IT security and endpoints.
