Job summary

Pi.Security in San Francisco seeks a Platform SWE to design, develop, and scale the core platform powering our AI-native cybersecurity solutions. You will build shared services, frameworks, and abstractions enabling rapid, reliable software delivery.

This role requires hands-on work in our SF office, five days a week, alongside the founding team. We value ownership, curiosity, and bold thinking as we push security forward.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, API design, databases, asynchronous processing, and service-oriented architecture.
• Demonstrated experience designing shared services, libraries, or frameworks adopted by multiple engineering teams.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar backend languages.
• Ownership, autonomy, and good judgment in a fast-moving startup.
• Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco five days a week.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and scale the core platform powering Pi's products. This role involves building shared services, frameworks, and abstractions that enable our engineering team to develop reliable software quickly. Join us to build the foundation of an AI-native cybersecurity platform!

This role is based in our San Francisco office, five days a week. We build in person, alongside the founding team, and that is a deliberate choice.

What You'll Do

• Experience with AI infrastructure, agent execution, or workflow orchestration.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this role in San Francisco is $168,000 - $235,000 per year. This is our good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay at hire. Where an offer lands depends on experience, skills, and level. Base salary is one part of total compensation, which also includes equity.
