Job summary

Vida Health seeks a Sr. Director of Engineering Operations & Security to lead how Vida builds, ships, and secures its platform. You will own test strategy, CI/CD, IaC, cloud infrastructure, and corporate IT, with accountability for the information security program for payers, employers, and members.

You will also oversee incident management, on-call rotations, audits, and security governance while guiding the security roadmap and raising engineering standards across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree at a minimum.
• 10+ years in software engineering, incl. 4+ years leading multiple teams and developing Engineering Managers.
• Direct ownership of DevOps, SRE, platform, or engineering operations at meaningful scale.
• Experience owning a customer-facing production operations function with real SLAs.
• Demonstrated incident management leadership for production systems.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, PCI) and security ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own test strategy and automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, cloud platform, and developer environments.
• Set and enforce quality gates and deployment practices for rapid yet safe product moves.
• Drive measurable improvements in productivity, reliability, and recovery time.
• Own corporate IT, IAM, endpoint and SaaS security, and vendor security.
• Serve as Vida's Security Officer with policy ownership, risk assessment, and incident response.
• Lead security diligence with customers, audits, and questionnaires to accelerate sales.
• Build and lead the security roadmap and hire the needed security depth.
• Own data operations and end-to-end data feeds reliability and monitoring.
• Handle Tier 2/3 escalations with CS leadership on SLAs.
• Transition to an engineering-shaped organization with tooling and career ladders.
• Establish a unified incident process and on-call standards across teams.
