Senior AI/ML Platform Lead

Job summary

Vida Health is seeking an experienced software engineer to build and scale our AI/ML platform within a regulated healthcare context. You will handle data ingestion, model serving, and feature pipelines while reinforcing security and reliability across the stack.

You will collaborate with platform teams to enable cutting-edge AI capabilities, including LLM integration with grounding and guardrails, while maintaining strict data protection and Compliance with HIPAA/HITRUST standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• 7–10+ years of production-grade ML/AI systems experience.
• Experience as a generalist software engineer across backend, infra, and data.
• Hands-on experience with MLOps, model serving, feature and data pipelines, and real-world model integration.
• Strong cloud experience (prefer Google Cloud) with AWS/Azure equivalents welcomed.
• DevOps skills: CI/CD, IaC, containers, Kubernetes, observability.
• Familiarity with HIPAA/HITRUST is a plus.
• Experience with LLM apps: retrieval, guardrails, knowledge graphs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute across the platform build: data ingestion, transformation, canonical data model and entity resolution.
• Strengthen DevOps and reliability: CI/CD, infrastructure as code, environment management, observability.
• Partner with Security and IT: data classification, access controls, secrets management, HIPAA/HITRUST aligned controls.
• Lay groundwork for AI/ML platform: model serving, inference gateway, data pipelines, model lifecycle, grounding and guardrails for LLMs.
• Keep PHI within controlled boundaries, favor in-VPC/local inference where required.
• Collaborate with team leads to raise AI/ML fluency across platform, security, and DevOps teams.
