WellTheory Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead a talented, largely self-directed team.

You will shape the platform, define processes, and drive technical direction while spending 20-30% of time in code and the rest in leadership, hiring, and cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and leadership. You’ll report to the Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer and work in a fully remote, HIPAA/SOC 2/HITRUST-focused environment.

Qualifikationen

• Experience leading engineering teams through growth and scale.
• Built in regulated environments (healthcare, fintech) with compliance in mind.
• Able to identify and hire high-potential engineers.
• Have shipped production TypeScript or JavaScript recently and want to keep doing so.
• Owns reliability, observability, environments, and incident response.
• Knows how to introduce AI tooling to multiply team impact.

Aufgaben

• Build and grow the engineering team, conduct 1:1s, and own hiring and career growth.
• Define shipping processes: planning, code review, testing, release, and incident practices.
• Set technical direction and architecture with the founding engineer to maintain velocity.
• Own platform and DevOps roadmap, including PHI-safe non-prod environments.
• Embed compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST) into engineering practices.
• Introduce AI core tooling, coding agents, evals, and internal tooling.
• Stay hands-on by reviewing code and solving high-leverage problems.
• Shape the roadmap in partnership with product and design leads.
• Represent engineering in leadership discussions.
