We are a ground‑floor startup led by repeat founders with successful exits in enterprise software.We're building an AI‑native product in a domain we've previously worked in and built software for.You’ll join as employee#1 on the engineering side — shaping the technical vision, culture, and trajectory of a company designed to scale from day one. You hustle, move fast, and may have been a founding engineer, startup engineering leadership, or similar experiences building products. You appreciate craftsmanship in product and design, and are ready to collaborate.

Why This Role Is Unique

• Build from zero → one: Architect the platform and ship the "minimal loveable product" features.
• Innovate with AI: Invest in scalable AI services throughout the development lifecycle (i.e. agent-based coding, testing, etc.).
• Own the technical roadmap: Define the technical roadmap to deliver on product and design requirements.
• Move at startup speed: Iterate days‑to‑weeks, not months, while maintaining enterprise‑grade quality.
• Work with proven operators: Collaborate with leaders who have built, scaled, and exited category‑defining products.
• Meaningful upside: 6–10% founder‑level equity — your impact will be material.

What You’ll Do

• Hands‑on architecture & coding of our initial AI and data pipelines, APIs, and user‑facing products.
• Hire, mentor, and lead a high‑performing engineering team as we add founding engineer teammates.
• Establish best‑in‑class engineering practices around security, testing, CI/CD, and observability.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, design, and early customers to translate insights into shippable software.
• Own technical roadmap & budgeting, balancing speed with scalability and compliance demands of enterprise clients.
• Represent engineering in investor, partner, and customer conversations.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+years building and shipping modern enterprise SaaS products; 2+years in a technical leadership role.
• Proven track record of moving fast without compromising reliability or security.
• You love to learn and pick up new concepts fast.
• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), distributed systems, and modern backend stacks (TypeScript/Node, Python, Go, or similar).
• Experience with AI-powered development services (i.e. Cursor, Windsurfer, Firebase Studio, etc.).
• Experience with AI and ML/Data platforms (i.e. OAI SDK, Lang, etc.) is a strong plus.
• Extreme work ethic and a builder’s mindset—you sweat the details and own outcomes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable operating in ambiguity.
• Bonus points if you’re passionate about business, financial markets, or investing and love building products that serve finance teams.

Nice to Have (but Not Required)

• Previous experience at an early‑stage startup or as a founding engineer.
• Familiarity with enterprise security & compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO27001, FedRAMP).
• Contributions to open‑source or relevant technical publications.

What Success Looks Like in 12 Months

• MVP in production with paying enterprise customers and top-tier uptime and latency performance.
• An engineering team of 2–3 high‑caliber builders recruited, onboarded, and performing.
• Robust CI/CD pipeline enabling weekly (or faster) production releases with automated testing & rollback.
• Technical roadmap & architecture documented, scalable to 10× traffic without re‑writes.
• Positive customer feedback on product stability, speed, and quality.
