Job summary

Merck & Co. in the U.S. Oncology division seeks a Director of Individualized Therapy Operations to lead the end-to-end operational ecosystem for a pioneering mRNA-based neoantigen therapy.

You will coordinate across manufacturing, supply chain, IT, alliance partners, and treatment sites to ensure seamless therapy delivery from sample intake to administration. This role requires 8+ years in biotech/pharma operations, strong strategic thinking, and exceptional stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8+ years in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or related industries with leadership in complex therapy operations or operational strategy.
• Experience designing operating models coordinating multiple internal functions and external partners to deliver seamless customer and patient experiences.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders across commercial, manufacturing, supply chain, market access, IT, and external partner organizations.
• Experience building and scaling operational capabilities, including governance structures, operating procedures, customer support models, orchestration platforms, analytics, and performance management systems.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with ability to navigate ambiguity and translate strategy into execution.
• Experience establishing and managing KPIs, dashboards, capacity planning processes, and operational performance metrics to drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the US Intismeran end-to-end operational ecosystem from order through treatment administration.
• Define and lead the end-to-end operational strategy and governance framework for launch readiness and growth.
• Own the orchestration ecosystem including workflows, tissue operations, logistics, and customer support.
• Lead cross-functional alignment across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT, and alliance partners to ensure reliable therapy delivery.
• Provide strategic leadership of the Treatment Site Operations Coordinator capability and governance.
• Establish and oversee KPIs, dashboards, capacity planning, risk management, and executive reporting.
• Lead governance and control tower activities to resolve capacity constraints and drive continuous improvement.
• Build future-state capabilities to support individualized therapies and scalable operations.
• Lead the Intismeran Individualized Therapy Operations organization with centralized coordination and partner management.
