Anchorage School District seeks a Senior Director of Employee and Labor Relations to oversee discipline, grievances, contract interpretation, and labor negotiations. You will train supervisors on union contracts and mediate conflicts, guiding staff through complex policies and federal/state laws.

The role includes collaboration with the Chief Human Resources Officer to maintain compliant employment practices.

Formación

• A juris doctorate degree and license to practice law.
• Five years of employment/labor law experience or in employee relations at a supervisory level.
• Knowledge of collective bargaining, grievance handling, mediation, arbitration, and contract administration.
• Preferred: Alaska law license and professional HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM).
• Familiarity with federal and state labor laws and large unionized organizations.

Responsabilidades

• Interpret, administer, and negotiate collective bargaining agreements.
• Counsel principals and administrators on disciplinary policies and contract compliance.
• Oversee employee discipline, grievances, and arbitration processes.
• Provide training on union contracts and discipline; support conflict resolution.
• Represent ASD in negotiations and external proceedings, ensuring lawful practices.
