Job summary

Renesas Electronics seeks a Senior Manager / Director of Emerging Applications & Technology Architecture to lead exploration and commercialization of next‑gen semiconductor solutions. You will guide a world‑class team driving architecture across AI, robotics, edge intelligence, and safety, bridging customers, partners, product groups, and engineering.

You will define system architectures, priorities, and roadmaps, while ensuring reliability, cybersecurity, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS or related technical field.
• 12+ years in semiconductor, embedded systems, system architecture or tech development.
• 5+ years leading technical teams or senior engineers.
• Proven track record in complex embedded systems and semiconductor solutions.
• Expertise in AI/Edge AI, robotics, autonomy, safety, cybersecurity, IoT.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive system architecture strategy for emerging applications and technologies.
• Identify market opportunities, trends, and high-growth segments for architecture roadmaps.
• Translate customer challenges into architectures, requirements, and roadmaps.
• Lead system-level architectures and semiconductor-enabled solutions using Renesas products.
• Oversee design standards, reference designs, proofs-of-concept, and demos.
• Establish architecture methodologies and best practices across domains.
• Collaborate with product groups, marketing, and engineering for go-to-market strategies.
• Build and mentor a high-performing team of architects; foster innovation and collaboration.
