Job summary

Pearson Carter is seeking a Head of Electrical Engineering for AI Infrastructure across Australia or Singapore with regular travel across the APAC portfolio. Qualifications

• Provide technical governance from tender and detailed design through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Manage design reviews, deviations, change control, FAT/SAT and commissioning readiness.
• Work with Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Mechanical/Thermal, Controls and Networking teams.
• Manage consultants, contractors, EPC partners, utilities and vendors.
• Feed site learnings and commissioning outcomes back into reference electrical design standards.
• Ensure consistent electrical engineering standards across multi-country environments.

Head of Electrical Engineering – AI Infrastructure

About the Company

A rapidly growing APAC technology company is developing and operating next-generation AI infrastructure designed for high-density GPU compute. The business designs, builds and operates large-scale AI facilities, combining advanced power systems, liquid cooling, energy management and proprietary AI cloud technology.

The company is expanding its AI Factory portfolio across APAC and is looking for a senior electrical engineering leader to oversee electrical engineering delivery across multiple sites.

The Role

As Head of Electrical Engineering, you will lead the electrical engineering function across a portfolio of large-scale AI infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for technical governance, engineering execution, quality assurance and commissioning readiness across sites in Australia, Indonesia and future APAC locations.

You will:

• Lead and develop a geographically distributed team of site-based electrical engineers.
• Own electrical engineering execution across MV/LV distribution, UPS, standby generation, protection, power quality, earthing and bonding.
• Provide technical governance from tender and detailed design through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Manage design reviews, deviations, change control, FAT/SAT, commissioning readiness and safe energisation.
• Work closely with Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Mechanical/Thermal, Controls and Networking teams.
• Manage consultants, contractors, EPC partners, utilities, regulators and major equipment vendors.
• Feed site learnings and commissioning outcomes back into the company's reference electrical design and engineering standards.
• Ensure consistent electrical engineering standards are applied across multiple countries and regulatory environments.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• 12 years' electrical engineering experience, ideally within hyperscale data centres, mission-critical infrastructure, industrial power systems or other high-availability environments.
• Strong expertise across MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switching, protection and relay coordination, arc-flash, earthing and bonding.
• Experience with power system modelling, including load flow, short-circuit, motor starting and transient stability.
• Proven experience across tender design reviews, contractor/consultant management, FAT, SAT and multi-level commissioning.
• Experience leading electrical engineering teams across multiple sites or countries.
• Strong understanding of electrical design governance, technical assurance, change control and construction delivery.
• Experience contributing to Basis of Design documents, engineering standards, templates or reference architectures.
• Experience working across APAC markets, particularly Australia and/or Indonesia, is highly desirable.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally with a power systems focus.

Location

Australia or Singapore, with regular travel across the company's APAC project portfolio.
