Code for America is seeking a Director of Delivery Operations to establish scalable delivery practices across a growing portfolio of government-facing projects. The role emphasizes enabling teams, embedding practical delivery frameworks, and deploying AI-enabled tools to improve consistency and impact.

This internal-facing leadership role focuses on setting priorities for delivery infrastructure, guiding standardization, and partnering with senior leaders to maintain a field-tested operating

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in project management, delivery operations, or a PMO function.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing delivery frameworks, standards, or playbooks.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities across a delivery domain and communicate tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve delivery methodology, standards, tools, templates, and governance.
• Design and maintain protocols for the full project lifecycle from cultivation to delivery close.
• Roll out training, tools, and onboarding to build PM capability across teams.
• Drive adoption of delivery standards through change management and stakeholder engagement.
• Identify systemic risks and patterns, translating them into updated guidance and coaching.
• Support scope revisions and handoffs between partnerships and delivery teams.
• Monitor and improve governance mechanisms with regular check-ins and reporting.
