Job summary

Octave is seeking a Head of Data Platform & AI to lead the technical vision across our data platform and AI/ML capabilities. You will own the strategy, evolve the data foundation, and build the team to execute as Octave grows.

You will partner with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and business leaders to drive AI-enabled capabilities, balance near-term delivery with long-term investments, and set high standards for architecture, quality, and governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years leading data platform, data engineering, Data Science, ML, or AI capabilities in high-growth tech environments.
• Proven experience architecting and building modern data platforms and production data systems.
• Meaningful experience applying machine learning and AI to real-world product or business problems and taking solutions to production.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Define Octave’s Data & AI technical vision and roadmaps.
• Own company KPIs spanning AI/ML and Data Platform; report progress to executives.
• Partner with Product and cross-functional leaders to translate AI opportunities into technical initiatives.
• Lead the Data Platform team; recruit and develop top talent; ensure high performance.
• Establish governance, privacy, security, and responsible AI practices.
