Job summary

Octave, a modern behavioral health practice, seeks a Sr. Data Engineer to evolve our data stack and enable AI/ML capabilities. You’ll design and scale data pipelines, work with scientists and product managers, and shape architecture for reliable analytics and production-grade ML.

This hands-on role emphasizes observability, testing, and collaboration, with opportunities to mentor peers and help deliver equitable, affordable care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or ML engineering.
• Experience with major cloud data platforms and tools (AWS/GCP, dbt, Airflow, Airbyte, Redshift/BigQuery).
• Healthcare, behavioral health, EHR systems, and/or regulated industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable systems for ingestion, transformation, and storage of data with testing and observability.
• Implement frameworks, tooling, and automation to safely increase development velocity.
• Develop end-to-end AI/ML workflows from ingestion to productionisation and downstream systems integration.
• Support iterative model development and production operations and observability (accuracy, drift, bias, fairness).
• Contribute to continuous improvement and mentoring of peer engineers.
• Leverage AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making.
