Job summary

Forvis Mazars, LLP seeks a Director of Data & Intelligence to lead Layer 1 Data Foundation for agentic systems. You will steer data modeling, vector stores (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus), knowledge graphs (Neo4j), and Zero-ETL pipelines, while guiding engineers and collaborating with AI Architects and Designers.

Qualifications

• BS in data science, computer science or other related fields (MS strongly preferred).
• 8+ years of relevant data engineering / data science experience with modern data architecture (Zero-ETL, vector/graph databases, semantic layers, RAG).
• 7+ years of experience leading, coaching, and developing teams (5–10+), consulting environment preferred.
• Proven track record partnering with peer technical leaders to deliver integrated platforms.
• Experience deploying RAG architectures and MCP-based integrations in production environments.
• Familiarity with AI Ethics, responsible AI guardrails, and governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data & Intelligence Engineering discipline across the AAI practice, setting direction, standards, and delivery patterns for Layer 1 Data Foundation.
• Provide coaching, career development, and performance feedback to Data & Intelligence Engineers.
• Partner with AI Solutions Architects and Intelligence Designers to define solution architecture and shared standards.
• Contribute to the AAI Center of Excellence by selecting frontier tooling and codifying standards.
• Represent the practice on AI ethics, governance, data sovereignty, and guardrails.
• Architect and oversee the Data Foundation layer of agentic systems (vector stores, knowledge graphs, real-time pipelines).
• Demonstrate deep data modeling, relational and non-relational principles; expert SQL.
• Show expertise in Python data engineering and PySpark.
• Familiar with Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse platforms.
• Collaborate with clients and teams to meet objectives and timelines; strong verbal/written communication.
• Experience with data pipelines, ML/AI models and GenAI/Agentic AI use cases.
• Design and govern MCP connectors exposing enterprise sources as tools for agents.
• Set standards for Graph-RAG, retrieval evaluation, and context quality for LLMs.
• Partner with teams to meet agentic workflow needs (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI).
• Ensure data structures support HITL workflows and Golden Set testing.
• Enforce security and policy guardrails across agent-accessible data.
