Job summary

Tapio is seeking a senior leader to lead data center strategy and development, shaping investments, markets, and opportunities with hyperscalers. This newly created role focuses on turning power, land, and large-load opportunities into viable data center projects and defining the portfolio priorities.

You will collaborate across development, engineering, finance, commercial and executive teams to drive strategic decisions, guide capital allocation, and translate market insight into actionable

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience across data centers, energy infrastructure, renewable energy, or large-load development.
• Strong understanding of how hyperscalers and data center operators evaluate sites and power opportunities.
• Experience assessing development-stage projects and allocating capital and resources.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Ability to work across development, engineering, finance, commercial, and executive teams.
• Experience within a hyperscaler, data center developer/operator or powered-land platform is highly desirable.

The Company

Our client is a rapidly growing, institutionally backed renewable energy platform with an established development team and significant project pipeline across the US.

As power demand from data centers accelerates, the business is investing in a dedicated strategy around powered land, large load, and digital infrastructure.

The Opportunity

This is a newly created senior role focused on shaping where the business should invest, which projects are genuinely attractive to hyperscalers, and how existing power and land opportunities can be developed into viable data center projects. This is not a traditional power origination role.
