Job summary

JB RECRUITMENT LIMITED is seeking an experienced VP/Director of Data Center Development to lead identification and development of large-scale data center projects across the United States. You will own opportunities from site identification through land acquisition, power strategy, utility engagement, entitlement, permitting and construction readiness.

• Lead utility engagement and interconnection activities.
• Manage zoning, entitlement, permitting and environmental processes.
• Coordinate technical, commercial, legal and environmental due diligence.
• Develop project budgets, schedules and investment cases.
• Negotiate with landowners, municipalities, utilities and other stakeholders.
• Manage external consultants, engineers and development partners.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, finance, legal and commercial teams.

An opportunity is available for an experienced VP / Director of Data Center Development to lead the identification and development of large-scale data center projects across US.

The position will take ownership of development opportunities from initial site identification through land acquisition, power strategy, utility engagement, entitlement, permitting and construction readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale data center developments from initial concept through construction readiness
• Identify and evaluate new markets and development sites
• Lead site-selection and land-acquisition activities

Experience & Qualifications

• 10+ years of infrastructure, real estate, energy or major-project development experience
• Significant experience within data centers, digital infrastructure, power or complex infrastructure development
• Experience taking projects from site identification through construction readiness
• Strong understanding of site selection and land acquisition
• Experience working with utilities on major power requirements
• Knowledge of transmission, substations and grid interconnection
• Experience with zoning, entitlement and permitting
• Strong commercial and financial understanding
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder-management skills

Direct experience developing hyperscale or colocation data center campuses is highly desirable.

Experience with developments requiring 100MW+ of power capacity would be particularly valuable.

$220,000–$275,000 base salary, dependent on experience, plus a competitive package that may include:
