Job summary

Prime Data Centers is seeking a Director of Operations Engineering to lead the technical strategy and reliability program across its operating data centers. You will partner with CFMs and Chief Engineers, own RCA processes, and drive improvements in equipment reliability.

This platform role requires hands-on engineering leadership, proficiency with electrical and mechanical systems, and the ability to translate field learnings into standards and actionable change across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of leadership and operations management experience.
• 8+ years of direct engineering in data centers or similar facilities.
• Experience leading formal RCAs and implementing corrective actions.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70E/70B, NEC, OSHA requirements.
• Willingness to travel 10-30% and respond to incidents outside hours.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of operations/reliability engineers (electrical, mechanical, controls).
• Serve as the senior technical escalation path for CFMs and CEs on complex issues.
• Establish intake, triage, and response model for site engineering requests.
• Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting during critical events and recoveries.
• Own Prime's RCA program, including failure analysis and corrective actions.
• Define operational standards and govern change management for sites.
• Assist in commissioning and turnover from an operations perspective.
• Mentor staff and manage department budget and staffing.
