Job summary

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) seeks a strategic Head of Data & AI in Lake Mary, FL. You will define the data engineering, analytics, AI strategy, and governance, leading a high-performing team to deliver secure, scalable solutions that align with business goals.

Hybrid in Lake Mary, you will partner across the organization to implement enterprise data standards, drive measurable value, and advance responsible AI adoption. A senior technologist with 7+ years in data and AI is ideal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent).
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, ML, or AI, including 2+ years leading technical teams.
• Experience designing and managing cloud-based data platforms using Azure, Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, or similar tech.
• Experience deploying and supporting production AI, ML, or LLM-based solutions.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with data governance, quality, cataloging, lineage, and access management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution of data engineering, analytics, AI, and governance initiatives.
• Build and evolve cloud data platform, lakehouse architecture, data pipelines, analytics, and governance.
• Deliver production-ready AI and ML solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing Data & AI team with vendors.
• Establish best practices for data & AI governance, model evaluation, and responsible AI adoption.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Information Security, Legal, and business leaders.
• Communicate technical strategy and business value to executive leadership.
