Job summary

Remitly is seeking a Head of Credit Strategy - Lending to shape underwriting strategies and manage credit risk across customer acquisitions and portfolio management. You will build and scale analytics, including AI/ML-based underwriting, and drive portfolio performance with governance and compliance in mind.

You will collaborate with Product, Marketing and Engineering to create new offerings, design MVPs, and plan scaling campaigns that balance risk and customer value within regulatory

Qualifications

• 10+ years in strategy and analytics influencing financial decisions.
• 5+ years leading consumer lending strategies with model-based segmentation and underwriting.
• 5+ years portfolio credit risk monitoring, NPV/LTV evaluation, and assumptions for consumer lending.
• 2+ years partnering with Finance on CECL reserve modeling and reporting.
• Strong analytical, data-driven decision making and communication skills.
• Experience distilling problems, forming hypotheses, and proposing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine risk segmentation, underwriting policy, and line management for lending products.
• Lead development of underwriting and pricing models from discovery to deployment.
• Define roadmap for credit underwriting strategies and risk infrastructure with cross-functional teams.
• Own KPI framework and LTV/NPV models capturing cost and revenue drivers.
• Build real-time monitoring for portfolio health, KRIs, concentration, and collections.
• Improve collections strategy using predictive analytics focused on outcomes.
• Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders to drive execution.
• Develop governance processes for credit risk, reporting, and escalation.
• Collaborate with Decision Sciences to build credit decisioning models and data sources.
• Drive experimentation with A/B tests on underwriting and pricing.
