Job summary

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Estimating Manager to lead the estimating process across Virginia and surrounding markets.

You will manage the estimating team, coordinate with preconstruction and operations, and guide pricing for multiple disciplines including sheet metal, piping, and electrical. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, pricing knowledge, and the ability to drive estimates from conception through final proposal, while aligning with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
• 7+ years estimating experience in commercial construction.
• Leadership or management of estimating teams or large preconstruction efforts.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, cost controls, and delivery models.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, piping, HVAC or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating team for commercial projects from budgeting to proposal submission.
• Develop accurate cost estimates, bid packages, labor forecasts, and pricing strategies.
• Review drawings and specs to identify scope, risks, and opportunities.
• Coordinate with PM, operations, engineering, and senior leadership throughout preconstruction.
• Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships and final pricing evaluations.
• Establish estimating standards, databases, and best practices.
• Participate in client meetings, design-assist discussions, and value engineering.
• Support business development with pursuits and strategic planning.
• Monitor market trends, labor rates, and material pricing.
• Mentor and develop estimating staff; foster high performance.
