Job summary

Williams College seeks a Director of Project Management to lead the Planning, Design and Construction team. You will oversee capital design and construction, manage budgets, contracts, and schedules, and ensure projects align with campus operations and safety standards.

The role requires a LEED credential or the ability to obtain within 24 months, plus strong leadership and communication skills across diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (engineering or architecture) or related to construction or project management.
  • Ten years of experience in planning, design, and management of major capital construction projects, including LEED buildings.
  • Strong leadership, budgeting and scheduling capabilities; familiarity with codes and project contracts.
  • Experience managing capital renewal programs in higher education or similar settings.
  • Excellent communication and ability to align diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of the capital design and construction program.
  • Supervise and mentor Project Management staff and manage project budgets.
  • Coordinate contracts, bid processes, and long-range facilities development plans.
  • Ensure projects comply with codes and university policies and integrate with campus operations.
  • Develop relationships with design and construction partners to achieve project goals.
  • Oversee turnover, warranties, and post-construction support.
