Job summary

Truist Financial Corporation seeks a senior leader to own the TD&O data organization, ensuring high-quality data governance and enterprise data strategy across the business unit. This role drives analytics, AI enablement, and data readiness for AI and agentic use, while leading hiring and cross-functional execution for performance and risk management.

The Head of Business Data will oversee a team of data stewards, analytics, and reporting professionals, and collaborate with executive committees

Qualifications

• 15+ years of data management and enterprise data strategy experience.
• Experience partnering with C-Level executives to drive business objectives.
• Expert problem-solving skills and ability to define detailed strategies.
• Experience in financial services or payments industry.
• Experience in meeting regulatory obligations in a highly regulated environment.
• Experience building and governing data products or data mesh concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute data & analytics strategy and roadmap for BU/CF.
• Partner with C-level leaders to drive data-driven decision making.
• Align BU/CF data roadmap with governance priorities and risk commitments.
• Provide regular updates to executives on progress and data risk.
• Drive accountability for data ownership and data management practices.
• Maintain inventory of data-critical processes and data elements.
• Oversee data stewards and governance across the company.
• Lead enterprise data strategy implementation, modernization, and AI enablement.
• Manage innovation in analytics, data science, and modelling.
• Define target-state tools and capabilities with AI/Data Office.
• Collaborate with Truist across units to achieve data strategy goals.
• Manage analytics, data science, and reporting teams (50–200).
• Keep abreast of new industry practices and technologies.
