Job summary

Mark III Construction, Inc. seeks a Director of AI to lead company-wide AI strategy, governance, and adoption across MEP, Service, Manufacturing, VDC, BD, Estimating, and Finance. This role chairs the AI Committee and collaborates with IT for security and implementation.

The position focuses on identifying high-value automation opportunities, piloting solutions, and scaling successful programs with clear ROI reporting to CFO and executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a company-wide AI strategy and roadmap aligned to business goals.
• Chair the AI Committee with cross-functional representation across MEP, Service, Manufacturing, VDC, Business Development, Estimating, and Finance.
• Enforce AI governance policies: acceptable use, data privacy, vendor risk, and model/tool approval process.
• Own the build-vs-buy-vs-partner decision framework for AI tools and vendors.
• Identify pain points and high-ROI AI/automation opportunities with department leaders.
• Lead deployment of approved AI tools and workflows with IT and department champions.
• Build training programs and internal docs to drive adoption and reduce shadow-IT.
• Manage change resistance in AI rollouts in a field-heavy environment.
• Evaluate emerging AI vendors and tools relevant to construction, MEP, manufacturing, and finance.
• Manage AI-related vendor contracts, licensing, and budget in coordination with Finance and Procurement.
• Maintain awareness of industry AI adoption trends in construction technology.
• Partner with IT to ensure data security and access controls for AI tools.
• Ensure AI tool usage complies with client contracts and regulatory considerations.
• Monitor and mitigate risks around AI outputs in customer-facing or safety-related contexts.
• Report AI initiative status, ROI, and roadmap to CFO and executives.
• Translate AI capability into business-language value propositions for non-technical stakeholders.
• Document savings from AI initiatives and develop a scorecard of outcomes.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
