Job summary

MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure (CE&I) is seeking a Director of AI Strategy & Innovation to build and lead an enterprise AI program across Renewables, Industrial, Infrastructure and General Building. You will define the AI vision, identify strategic opportunities, and drive executive-level adoption of AI capabilities to deliver measurable ROI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Master's degree in Business, Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive technology, innovation, digital transformation, or business systems leadership experience.
• Five+ years leading enterprise technology or innovation teams.
• Demonstrated success delivering AI, automation, advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives through the full lifecycle, including pilot, measure, iterate, and adoption at enterprise scale.
• Experience building AI programs from inception preferred.
• Experience solving complex operational challenges with scalable technology solutions in construction, engineering, energy, utility, industrial services, infrastructure, or large project-based enterprises.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi-year enterprise AI strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
• Identify opportunities where AI can improve business performance, project execution, safety, quality, estimating, scheduling, procurement, equipment utilization, risk management, and back-office operations.
• Establish a prioritized AI innovation portfolio and roadmap.
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-enabled applications, automations, agents, and analytics solutions.
• Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, security, and data teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Establish governance processes ensuring AI initiatives align with enterprise priorities.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop AI engineers, solution developers, and technical specialists.
• Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning.
