Hazen and Sawyer seeks a Director of AI Strategy & Adoption to lead the integration of AI across engineering and project delivery. You will build and direct a high-impact team that collaborates with scientists and engineers to deploy strategic AI solutions for water projects.

The role requires senior leadership to set AI direction, govern usage, and scale pilots into daily practice across technical and corporate functions. Hybrid in-office with travel.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, data science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of technology, data or digital leadership, including enterprise AI programs from strategy to deployment.
• Proven record of driving adoption at scale in a large professional workforce.
• Working knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, agents, retrieval and enterprise AI platforms.
• Experience with AI governance, data security and responsible-use frameworks in regulated settings.
• Strong executive communication: able to explain trade-offs to Board and engineers.
• Experience hiring, leading and developing technical teams.

• Develop Hazen's multi-year AI vision and roadmap aligned to strategy and governance.
• Prioritize use cases by value, risk, and effort; advise on build/buy/partner decisions.
• Track AI landscape and brief executives and Board on key developments.
• Lead firm-wide adoption of AI tools with training and guidance for users.
• Embed AI in proposals, design, QA/QC, reporting, and project controls with practice leaders.
