Job summary

WGU is seeking an experienced AI Engineering Manager in Raleigh, NC to lead a high-performing AI engineering team focused on building production AI applications and services. This role translates AI strategy into actionable roadmaps, establishing standards and driving reliable, scalable solutions.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product, data, architecture, security, and legal teams, and help advance responsible AI practices in a fast-paced, cloud-based environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of software/AI engineering experience.
• 1+ years of leading or managing engineers.
• Production software or AI solution delivery in a cloud environment.
• Strong software engineering practices: architecture, testing, CI/CD, observability.

Responsibilities

• Leads a high-performing AI engineering team with coaching and career development.
• Translates AI strategy into team roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
• Leads design, development, testing, deployment of production AI applications and services.
• Sets engineering standards, patterns, and quality expectations for reliability, security, and productivity.
