Job summary

Ascensus is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the Enterprise AI Platform team in Raleigh, NC. You will grow a cross-functional engineering group, stay technically engaged, and drive initiatives that deliver reliable AI-enabled software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of technical leadership or engineering management experience.
• Experience coaching software engineers, SDETs, DevOps engineers, and support engineers.
• Ability and willingness to stay technically engaged with codebase, architecture, and workflows, including occasional hands-on contribution.
• Strong understanding of modern software practices: clean code, source control, unit testing, CI/CD, design patterns, refactoring, maintainability, production support.
• Experience coordinating delivery teams including Software Engineers, SDETs, DevOps Engineers, Support Engineers, Quality Engineers.
• Experience supporting production software systems, including troubleshooting, incident response, root-cause analysis, and operational improvements.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices and modern engineering workflows.
• Ability to coach, provide feedback, set goals, and support career development for associates.
• Ability to create a high-performance environment built on ownership, accountability, trust, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to partner with product, architecture, operations, support, and business teams to drive outcomes.
• Experience participating in hiring, interviewing, and team growth activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
