Job summary

GEICO is seeking a senior leader to design, implement, and oversee our enterprise AI governance framework. You will partner across divisions to embed responsible AI practices while aligning with regulatory expectations and business priorities.

You will build a robust AI model inventory, conduct risk assessments, and lead training to promote a culture of responsible AI use. This hybrid role requires deep domain knowledge in AI governance and effective cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics).
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, and/or governance in AI, technology or data governance, with demonstrated technical understanding of AI/ML risk.
• Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills across multiple business units, technology and risk functions.
• Strong strategic focus addressing evolving AI risks while balancing compliance and business priorities.
• Deep understanding of AI technologies, regulatory frameworks, and ethical considerations in AI development and deployment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; experience designing and executing compliance testing, monitoring, audits, or risk oversight.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a team of AI governance professionals with frameworks, policies, and processes to address AI risks.
• Partner with business leaders, technology, legal and compliance teams to embed responsible AI practices.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to deliver AI initiatives with appropriate risk controls.
• Oversee and maintain a comprehensive AI model inventory and lifecycle management.
• Assess and monitor AI-related risks; provide guidance on risk mitigation and innovation.
• Advise on AI system review processes and conduct risk assessments for transparency and ethics.
• Facilitate committees promoting transparency, collaboration, and accountability for AI initiatives.
• Deliver training to promote responsible AI use and governance awareness across the company.
• Perform controls monitoring and testing to evaluate model performance against regulatory requirements.
• Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal assessments as needed.
