DoorDash seeks an Engineering Director to lead our Logistics Org in San Francisco, overseeing 100+ engineers across Backend, Mobile, ML and OR to architect real-time systems powering our fulfillment engine. You will drive AI-native platforms, scale high-throughput infrastructure, and mentor leaders while aligning technical roadmaps with business goals.

This role blends algorithmic research with production reliability and equity opportunities.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• 7+ years leading engineering managers and multiple teams.
• Experience scaling high-performing engineering orgs through hypergrowth and re-orgs.
• Strategic thinker shaping multi-quarter roadmaps and architecture.
• Ability to partner with engineering, product, and business leaders.
• AI-native leadership mindset with focus on production reliability.

Responsibilities

• Define the AI & Platform Vision and scalable AI/Optimization platform.
• Architect real-time decision engines for dispatching, pricing, and allocation.
• Build production-grade ML with feature stores and low-latency serving.
• Scale throughput infrastructure to handle millions of concurrent requests.
• Mentor leaders and drive engineering excellence across teams.
• Align technical roadmaps with business objectives.
