Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Sr. Manager, Data Platform in California to lead a 6–10 engineer team building core platform services, owning delivery and direction for the domain.

You will drive hiring, onboarding, and coaching while ensuring reliability, scalability, and operability across cloud-native systems, hyperscalers, and on-prem environments. Strong leadership and hands-on technical judgment are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building production software.
• Hands-on with distributed systems and Kubernetes.
• Experience leading teams of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and develop a team of software engineers responsible for cloud-native platform services.
• Own end-to-end delivery for the team's domain from design to production.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and operability of services with SLOs and on-call processes.
• Collaborate with principal engineers and other managers to align with platform architecture and standards.
• Review designs, participate in architectural decisions, and contribute hands-on when needed.
• Build a healthy, high-trust engineering culture with clear expectations and inclusive environment.
