Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Sr. Manager, Data Platform to lead a 6–10 engineer team building and operating core cloud-native platform services. You will own delivery, people, and technical direction for the team's domain, balancing product priorities with engineering excellence.

You will drive end-to-end delivery, set and track SLOs, scale systems across hyperscalers, on-prem, and sovereign environments, and mentor engineers to raise the bar through hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building production software with distributed systems experience.
• 5+ years managing software engineers and building high-performing teams.
• Hands-on experience with major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitOps, and IaC.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and develop a team designing and operating cloud-native platform services.
• Own end-to-end delivery, setting priorities and roadmaps with product leadership.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and operability; establish SLOs and on-call practices.
• Align work with platform architecture and broader business needs.
• Provide hands-on design reviews and architectural input when necessary.
• Foster a healthy, high-trust engineering culture with clear expectations.
