This true player-coach role blends AI, healthcare, and software engineering; you will shape architecture, review code, mentor engineers, and partner with Product, Clinical, Operations, and Data Science to translate complex care workflows into scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Deep software engineering foundation; senior IC experience building sophisticated applications.
• 5+ years of engineering management experience and leading organizations of 10+ engineers.
• Player-coach mindset, comfortable leading while staying technically credible.
• Applied AI experience with AI coding agents or LLM tech to build meaningful solutions.
• Strong systems thinking for transforming complex workflows with tech and AI.
• Executive-level communication and judgment with senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional cross-functional instincts to collaborate with diverse teams.
• First-principles thinking; ask the right questions and align early.
• Strong ownership mindset with accountability and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering roadmap and execution for clinician-facing tools and care delivery systems.
• Identify opportunities to use AI and AI-driven automation to improve care delivery.
• Build and lead high-performing, accountable engineering teams.
• Stay hands-on through architecture decisions, reviews, and prototyping.
• Partner with Product, Clinical, Operations, and Data Science to translate care problems into scalable solutions.
• Drive engineering quality, velocity, reliability, and operational health.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers and leaders as the org grows.
• Collaborate with Midi leaders on architecture and technical strategy.
• Shape how Midi uses AI and modern dev tools to rethink healthcare delivery.
