Job summary

Verizon is seeking an Associate Director, AI Connect Sales Engineering to lead a high-experience team in shaping dark fiber and AI-connected designs for hyperscalers and neoclouds. The role centers on turning ambitious plans into buildable, profitable solutions for top strategic customers.

You will guide a team of seasoned engineers, set design standards, and work cross-functionally with Finance, Product, and Legal to deliver strong business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 10+ years in engineering and architecting telecom, IT or network infrastructure.
• 3+ years leading senior technical talent, including workforce planning and coaching.
• Proven record designing and winning large, multi-year infrastructure deals.
• Experience engaging senior executives and delivering effective customer presentations.
• Financial analysis skills: P&L, ROI, cost analysis and business-case development.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision and strategy for dark fiber and AI Connect design engineering.
• Lead the design team supporting Verizon's AI Connect customers.
• Own solutions for GPU campus interconnect, data center interconnect, long-haul and intercity routes.
• Define standards for ultra-high-count fiber, latency budgets, and growth planning.
• Evaluate build options with Finance and Product and build ROI models.
• Partner with multiple orgs to ensure quoted routes are constructible and on schedule.
