Job summary

Ancora Education is seeking a Director of Education to oversee the campus Academic Department, ensuring compliance with institutional, accreditation, state, and federal policies, and leading a team of academic staff.

The role reports to Campus Leadership and requires collaboration with Program Directors, faculty, and support staff to maintain high standards of student success and program quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 3 years of experience in educational administration.
• 2 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
• 3 years of experience in academic instruction in a post-secondary environment.
• Experience with online instructional delivery and as an academic program director.
• Experience in student guidance or related field.
• Experience managing a department (including responsibilities for P/L and staff).
• Working knowledge of federal/state government education regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provides Services to Students.
• Coordinates New Student Orientation and re-entry orientation programs.
• Offers academic counseling and develops academic plans for students.
• Oversees Academic Directors and instructors in advisement and counseling.
• Ensures academic progress for probationary students and arranges referrals as needed.
• Identifies tutoring needs and coordinates with instructors or peers.
• Manages accommodations requests per campus policy.
• Leads Retention Program and guides student retention activities.
• Chairs Academic Review Committee and prepares findings letters/reports.
• Addresses disciplinary issues following policy.
• Supports student organizations and campus activities with faculty sponsors.
• Conducts interviews with non-returning and re-entering students.
• Oversees facilities upkeep for classrooms, library/resources, and student lounge.
• Creates and maintains Master Schedule of Classes and teaching schedules.
• Ensures class schedules meet delivery modalities and timelines.
• Hires Program Directors meeting credential requirements and subject matter expertise.
• Manages program business with Admissions to recruit students and monitors retention/satisfaction.
• Oversees curriculum development/revision and transitions between versions.
• Collaborates on program-level graduation/placement/employer satisfaction metrics.
• Oversees faculty hiring, training, development, and evaluations.
• Ensures use of established curriculum and instructional methods.
