Job summary

NYC Health and Hospitals is seeking a Head Nurse-Chronic for Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in the Bronx. The role directs nursing regimens, evaluates patient care, and leads an interdisciplinary care team.

Requires a valid New York State RN license and prior Head Nurse experience is preferred. Full-time daytime schedule with comprehensive benefits and education differential opportunities are offered.

About This Role

The Head Nurse-Chronic position involves directing the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing regimens for patients within an assigned unit. This role is ideal for experienced nursing professionals looking to lead and enhance patient care.

What You'll Do

• Direct the development and evaluation of nursing regimens for patients/clients.
• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate nursing regimens for assigned patients/clients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes to ensure continuity of care.
• Interpret and report patient responses to appropriate health team members.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan comprehensive patient care programs.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel.
• Participate in defining and maintaining standards of nursing practice.
• Conduct conferences to develop nursing care plans and promote staff development.
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education.

Requirements

Experience:

• Experience as a Head Nurse preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Valid New York State RN License required.

Additional Compensation

• Annual education differential based on degree:
  • Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
  • Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
  • Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500
• Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for recognized certifications.
• Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $1,042 up to $8,645 for up to 10 years of experience.
