Qualifications

• Master's degree required in nursing administration or related field.

• BLS may be required depending on assignment.

About This Role

The Assistant Director of Nursing at NYC Health and Hospitals is responsible for coordinating and managing nursing-related projects and initiatives aimed at improving patient care and experience across the system. What You'll Do

• Manage, coordinate, and execute all aspects of the nursing project lifecycle.
• Provide overall nursing project/program management activities.
• Collaborate with leadership and medical staff to develop policies and standards.
• Participate in planning and evaluating nursing services and health programs.
• Assist in implementing organizational plans for nursing functions.
• Support budget and staffing models by tracking agency staff expenditure.
• Develop strategies to identify and retain nursing candidates.
• Assist in developing administrative procedures and programs of patient care.
• Prepare and make periodic reports on administrative matters.
• Monitor electronic medical record systems for documentation gaps.

Requirements

Education:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing Administration or related discipline required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with additional experience considered.

Experience:

• Three (3) years of satisfactory nursing experience, with one (1) year in an administrative or supervisory capacity, or four (4) years of satisfactory nursing experience with two (2) years in a clinical supervisory capacity.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Valid New York State license and current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required depending on assignment.
