Job summary

NYC Health and Hospitals is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Emergency Service for Adults at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, located in the Bronx. This role provides professional nursing care in the emergency department, focusing on diagnosing and treating health problems through a range of nursing methods.

The position is full-time with night shifts from 7am to 7pm, and requires at least two years of Emergency Services experience and a current ACLS certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in Emergency Services.
• Current certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients.
• Interpret and report responses of patients/clients to appropriate members of the health team.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
• Determine and assign components of the nursing regimen to allied nursing personnel.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel in patient care.
• Participate in defining, implementing, maintaining, and interpreting standards of nursing practice.
• Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences regarding nursing practice.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education.

What You'll Do

Requirements

• Experience:
  • Minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in Emergency Services.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Current certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.

Additional Compensation

• Annual education differential based on degree:
  • Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
  • Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
  • Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500
• Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for nationally recognized certifications.
• Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $987 up to $8,190 for up to 10 years of experience.
