Wayne County Schools Employment Network is hiring a Middle School Head Wrestling Coach to oversee the wrestling program, ensuring student-athlete academic eligibility while fostering strong relationships with parents and students. The position requires extensive knowledge of wrestling and coaching experience.

Interested candidates should be available for practices and games outside regular hours and must follow Michigan High School Athletic Association rules. This is an immediate opening for the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications

• Must be available to perform coaching responsibilities, games and practices outside of your contractual day.
• Experience in wrestling and coaching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students/athletes about scholarships and importance of grades.
• Monitor grades of students/athletes in wrestling program.
• Coordinate a practice schedule for the entire season.

Skills

Wrestling knowledge and experience

Ability to communicate and work well with middle school students, parents, and the community

Understanding of Michigan High School Athletic Association rules and regulations

Education

Michigan Certified Teacher preferred

Youth wrestling coach experience preferred
