Job summary

O'Leary Middle School is seeking a Head Wrestling Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will develop a comprehensive wrestling program for student-athletes, lead daily practices, and coordinate competition logistics while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities include organizing schedules, communicating with families and administration, and maintaining safety standards. A high school diploma is required; a relevant degree is preferred, and CPR/First Aid certification

Qualifications

• Must have prior coaching experience at middle/high school level.
• Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to motivate young athletes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily wrestling practices.
• Develop a wrestling curriculum to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Organize team during competitions and coordinate transportation.
• Foster a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship and growth.
• Communicate with athletes, parents, and administration about schedules and progress.
• Monitor athlete performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure compliance with school policies and league rules.
• Collaborate with coaches and staff to promote athletic program success.
• Attend coaching clinics to stay current with best practices.
• Maintain equipment and facilities in safe condition.
