Erie’s Public Schools is seeking a Librarian to manage the school media center, assist students and staff with a wide range of reading and educational materials, and oversee cataloging and inventory. The role involves guiding students in using library resources and coordinating with teachers on materials and research support.

The Librarian will develop programs, maintain access to information, and support college and career planning while promoting parental involvement and adherence to school

Qualifications

• PDE Library Science certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree in an education discipline relevant to the assignment.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Successful prior teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates and supervises the media center.
• Evaluates, selects and requisitions books, aids, and supplies; maintains inventory.
• Assists students in evaluating aptitudes and planning education and occupation goals.
• Coordinates with staff to select instructional materials and communicate new acquisitions.
• Provides research assistance to students.
