Job summary

Bend-La Pine Schools is seeking an Assistant Coach to support high school athletics in Bend, Oregon. You will model ethical conduct, guide student-athletes, and collaborate with the Athletic Director and administration to uphold program standards.

The role requires visible involvement with athletes at all levels, supervision during practices and games, and participation in fundraising and scheduling activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Hold high ethical and professional standards.
• Be an appropriate role model for high school student-athletes.
• Hold high expectations and accountability academically and behaviorally for all student-athletes and coaching staff.
• Ability to develop, articulate, and implement a vision for program.
• Ability to work in a cooperative and harmonious manner in an educationally based, school-wide athletic program.
• Experience leading a comprehensive high school athletic program preferred.
• Be relationship/process oriented.
• Understand and provide information regarding eligibility, tryout process, cut process, and all other team-related information to include lettering, team rules, etc.
• Be creative and involved in all fundraising for the program.
• Communicate effectively with ALL stakeholders.
• Be an advocate for the multi-sport athlete.
• Recommend/assist in scheduling for your sport to the Athletic Director.
• Be readily accessible and visible to the athletes at all levels of the program.
• Other duties as assigned by Athletic Director.

Responsibilities

• Provide ethical leadership and serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
• Develop and communicate a clear program vision and goals.
• Collaborate with school staff and athletic staff to maintain a cohesive program.
• Assist in scheduling, tryouts, and enforcing team rules and lettering policies.
• Support fundraising efforts and community engagement.
• Communicate with students, families, and stakeholders to ensure program success.
