Job summary

Hill Country Christian School of Austin is seeking a Head JV Baseball Coach to lead the JV program with a focus on spiritual formation, athletic development, and program culture. The role requires strategic leadership, discipline, and a mission-driven approach to disciple student athletes and families.

You will collaborate with the Athletic Director to align program philosophy, safety, and compliance while overseeing game day operations, schedules, and communications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of similar or related coaching experience.
• Must be a Christ‑follower who upholds the school’s Core Values and Statement of Faith.
• Must faithfully attend a church whose beliefs align with the school’s Statement of Faith.
• Proven experience leading spiritual formation programs and integrating Scripture in athletics.
• Must be qualified to coach the sport at the appropriate level; certification preferred though not required.
• Understand and apply the principles of the sport being coached.
• Participation in high school sports required; college sports preferred.
• Experience coaching multiple sports and managing events, schedules and game day operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the AD in building a culture that prioritizes whole-person formation and Christ-like character.
• Serve as a visible leader and ambassador for athletics within the school and community.
• Develop and execute program philosophy, standards and expectations for athletes, parents, coaches, and community.
• Ensure compliance with governing bodies and school policies; manage safety and risk protocols.
• Lead devotions and spiritual formation initiatives for players and coaching staff.
• Develop offseason programming and in-season practice plans and game strategies.
• Recruit, develop and evaluate coaching staff; implement training standards.
• Plan and manage facilities, scheduling, travel, and game-day operations.
