Job summary

The Beaver Brook Golf and Country Club in Knoxville, TN seeks a Head Golf Professional to oversee daily golf-shop operations and lead staff under the Operations Manager. You will ensure exceptional service for members and guests and drive tournaments, events, and programs.

Ideal candidates hold a PGA Class A membership in good standing, with 3–5 years of progressive golf-professional experience, private club exposure, and proven ability to manage merchandising, scheduling, and member relations

Qualifications

  • PGA Class A member in good standing; membership preferred but not required for an exceptional candidate.
  • 3–5 years of progressive golf-professional experience, preferably in a private club.
  • Experience leading day-to-day golf operations, including tournaments, member events, tee sheets, outside operations and staff supervision.
  • Experience with golf-shop merchandising, inventory management and basic financial/budget responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to build strong member relationships, provide quality instruction and programming, and deliver personalized service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage schedules for Pro Shop and outside staff.
  • Hire, train, supervise, manage, and motivate staff to provide consistent and exceptional service to members and guests.
  • Organize and conduct club tournaments, leagues, outings, and outside golf events.
  • Communicate effectively with members regarding golf and course information, tournaments, events, deadlines, and other relevant activities.
  • Ensure the driving range and appropriate golf facilities are properly prepared and ready for member and guest use.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and track golf cart fleet maintenance and repair needs.
  • Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to communicate tournament schedules, events, course conditions, delays, closures, and other pertinent information.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for staff under your supervision.
  • Train staff and ensure proper and accurate use of the club's P.O.S. system.
  • Ensure the golf course is appropriately marked and prepared for daily play, tournaments, and special events.
  • Plan, promote, coordinate, and direct all golf activities and programs.
  • Maintain accurate records for the club regarding locker rentals, trail and storage fees, and the unlimited cart program.
  • Work with the Office Manager to address and resolve member-related questions and concerns.
  • Assist with preparing communications to the membership, including newsletters, eblasts, tournament information, and other golf-related announcements.
  • Enthusiastically promote the game of golf while maintaining a high level of professionalism, service, and a positive attitude toward members, guests, and staff.
  • Foster a welcoming and enjoyable golf environment that encourages member participation and supports the continued growth of the game of golf at Beaver Brook.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Operations Manager to enhance the overall member and guest experience.

Overview
